The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There are already rights to paid paternity leave in the UK: www.gov.uk/paternity-pay-leave

We can accept petitions calling for changes to rights to paid paternity leave, but it would need to be clear what changes you want to be made to these rights.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Change Statutory Paternity Pay to 90% of average weekly earnings: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/606407

Equalise paternity leave and pay entitlements with maternity leave and pay: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/615717
