Uphold the will of Parliament & implement the Leveson recommendations and s.40
The press made vile and defamatory allegations against me after I was falsely accused of murder. Parliament voted to implement the Leveson recommendations to protect victims of press abuse, but the Government are trying to go back on their word. Put the public first and implement Leveson now.
I was a retired teacher before my life was turned upside down by press abuse.
Dozens of people are smeared, libeled, and harassed for no other reason than to sell newspapers every year.
Now the Government are attacking “section 40”, a Leveson recommendation to protect the public and uphold free speech.
It’s time that the Government put the public ahead of press owners and implemented the Leveson recommendations, starting with section 40.
