SME’s :- Reduce VAT to 5% Cap fuel £1 per litre Reduce corporation tax to 10%
A Small haulage company where fuel, which is essential, prices are impacting. We subcontract to larger companies, which review rates once a year. VAT takes a large chunk of profit. As a small company the percentage of corporation tax decimates any profits, making it impossible to look at growth.
We would like to expand and purchase/ lease our own yard to park our trucks and expand the business. This would offer more work for drivers. We have in the past paid for drivers to take the HGV test. Surely support to encourage growth is beneficial to the community, the country and the future. Should a major disaster occur, losing income, the business could fail as all haulage companies have to prove financial standing of £8000 for the first vehicle and £4500 for subsequent vehicles.
