Petition Action

Provide cheap transport by issue monthly ticket for less than £15/month.

Petition Details

The Government should issue national ticket for public transport to make people use less fuel. The idea to provide people extra money to fight with higher prices is like fighting with fire by flammable liquid. The solution is to make pressure to deflate inflated fuel prices by decrease demand.

Additional Information

There are to many company in UK which provide transport to make some solution apart of national action. This could be temporary until situation come back to normal, but I strongly believe every idea to promote public transport instead of driving own car quite often as a single person would bring benefits. Also public transport on many occasions is more expensive than using own cars what should be reconsidered. The public transport is often wasted as provide transport to air instead of people.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you want the Government to do more to support the use of public transport, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. Your petition refers calls on the Government to "issue monthly ticket for less than £15/month", but it's not clear if you want this to make people eligible to use any and all public transport across the country.

In any case, the Government is not currently responsible for the price of all public transport, but we could accept a petition calling on the Government to fund a new scheme that reduced the cost of public transport, you'd just need to be clear how you wanted this to work.
