Petition Action

Rejection of the ability of MPs to sell-off public sector, organisations.

Petition Details

a petition calling for a public consultation or referendum before the sale of any public asset, to remove the ability of MPs to sell-off any public sector organisations, the ability to create will not be compromised, with the same restrictions, but all sales and private contracts to be halted .

Additional Information

With the sale of public sector organisations going out to private sector organisations, and the needs of the public are not being measured against the profits via shareholders, we have been short changed via our infrastructure, if our infrastructure was still under government holdings then this cost of living crisis could have been better handled, for numerous occasions governments from all sides have looked to short-term issues, not the larger overview of the public needs.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. We're not sure if you want a ban on the selling of public assets, or for any sales to be the subject of a consultation or referendum before they take place.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
