Petition Action

Introduce Nutrition as an additional compulsory subject from KS1 - KS4.

Petition Details

Offer similar learning hours as the 3 core subjects, to learn about Nutrition; ingredients, where they originate from, the export/import process, recipes, health benefits and drawbacks, preservatives, chemical processes, growing crops locally and globally, nutritional content and energy balance.

Additional Information

Provides standardised knowledge, that benefits all children who may not receive such education from caregivers. It should have long-term mental & physical health benefits that shapes overall quality of life into adulthood. Possible obesity prevention for children and future adults. Improves likelihood of adopting professional diet centric healthcare advise as an adult, if nutrition knowledge is deeply rooted. Helps to build a defence mechanism against the adverse effects of unregulated diet culture.
