Raise stamp duty threshold to families with children in paid-for childcare
Like the first-time buyer stamp duty threshold rise, I’d like our Government/Parliament to raise this for families with children in paid-for childcare (Nursery/Childminders etc).
As a mother of a young son, I know how expensive childcare is right now and for us to move from our first home to a bigger one, we’re looking at anywhere between £6-£10k on top of all the other fees that moving home comes with.
2 full day sessions a week are currently costing us around £700 pcm, so on one full-time and one part-time salary, moving home whilst paying the aforementioned nursery fees, isn’t feasible. If this approved, it would be massively beneficial to the housing market.
