Petition Action

Imply stricter laws on dogs being off leads in public areas.

Petition Details

I am requesting that there should be considerations regarding peoples' safety with dogs nearby.

Additional Information

There have been numerous cases of defenceless people being severely injured by dogs that are off their leads. Due to this, I request this to be acknowledged and considered appropriately. Thank you.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It's not clear if you want the Government to require that all dogs be kept on the lead in public at all times, or something else.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
