Petition Action

End net zero and green levies on our energy bills.

Petition Details

Net zero is being paid for by inflating our gas and electricity bills. Wind turbines are NOT FREE. We are all paying for them. We the tax paying people were never asked if we wanted to go green.

Additional Information

We want the government to reduce our energy bills instead of throwing millions into fuel poverty by paying for expensive unreliable energy. When the wind doesn't blow and the sun has gone down renewable energy is useless. The energy we use should be reliable and cheap. Our energy should come from North Sea gas and oil and be refined here in the UK.
We also need to increase our capacity for refining gas and oil.
The transition to green energy should be natural as it gets cheaper in the future.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about the cost of decarbonising the UK's electricity supply, but it's not clear exactly what changes you want the Government to make to current policy. It's not clear if you want the Government to abandon all policies to reduce carbon emissions in the UK, or just green levies on fuel.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:

Suspend the green levies on domestic fuel immediately: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/607977
