Petition Action

Fund free public transport for work-related travel by emergency services workers

Petition Details

The Government should fund free public transport for members of the emergency service workers (Police, Fire, Ambulance, and Coastguard) for work-related travel, i.e when in uniform to or from a shift.

Additional Information

The cost of living is increasing heavily, and as emergency service workers are public sector workers, they are unlikely to get a pay rise in line with inflation. The provision of free public transport would really help emergency service workers with the cost of living, as well has being beneficial to the environment by incentivising these workers to travel by public transport as opposed to road.
