Legalise, regulate and tax Ecstasy
Deaths related to the use of Ecstasy are around 27 per year in the UK and it is illegal and classified as "Class A" drug - prosecution can result in a 7 year prison sentence.
Deaths related to alcohol are around 40,000 per year in the UK. It is legal and causes massive social problems.
Deaths related to tobacco are around 114,000 per year and causes massive long term health problems.
2 of the worse drugs are legal within the UK and taxed. Alcohol and Tobacco cause chronic medical problems and lead to massive dependency on and cost drain to the NHS.
Legalisation, taxation and importantly, regulation would lead to less deaths through more reliable and safe, production and supply. Along with regulated sale comes the chance at education on how to use correctly and safely.
