Reduce tax on fuel by reducing VAT & freezing it when price goes over $x pb.
At present everyday life is being killed by the raise in fuel costs. However VAT blindly follows the barrel price and fuel tax This helps the govt by a reasonable tax now becoming an over tax.
Fuel prices are now a daily issue. Local stations have risen from £1.40pl to now 1.98 pl.
VAT charged on every element of fuel including fuel duty. So we pay tax on tax. Fuel duty is flat at 57.95p with VAT being charged on that and So we pay 11.5p tax on tax. Why not exclude vat being charged on fuel duty AND CAP the VAT limit that can be charged on fuel.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to cap the amount of VAT that is charged on fuel, but you'd need to be clear what you wanted this cap to be.
