Increase awareness of the dangers of swimming in lakes and rivers

Petition Details

We want the Government to require schools to specifically teach students about the dangers of swimming in rivers and lakes, as part of teaching curriculum content on swimming and water safety. We also want to see a public awareness campaign, including television adverts, highlighting these risks.

Additional Information

Unfortunately we lost our son aged 16 due yo drowning in a lake, and deaths of teenagers in rivers and lakes is all too common

I as a mother of such tragedy believe there is not enough being done to prevent this happening again and again.
