Petition Action

Increase subsidies and grants for homeowners to improve their energy ratings

Petition Details

We're asking for an increase in subsidies and grants available to improve domestic energy ratings and reduce their emissions. This can be done through providing money for solar panels, heat pumps, improved insulation etc.

Additional Information

22% of the UK’s carbon emissions come from our homes, with ¾ of this from our heating. We must make it easier for people to make their houses more eco-friendly, without them having to spend absurd amounts of money. For example, the costs of installing solar panels alone costs an average of around £6,000, making improvements like this unavailable for 20 million UK households.

More must be done to combat this issue, otherwise we have no chance of meeting our net zero target.
