Petition Action

Elected members of Conservative party should step down.

Petition Details

With the fiasco that is our current government and the inability of the country to enforce its democratic right to consultation it is only fair to force a general election.

Additional Information

If the majority held by the current conservative government can be reduced by individuals stepping down then an election can be forced, it is the only way the public can have a say in what is currently happening in parliament.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept petitions that relate to honours or appointments. This includes petitions calling for someone to lose their job.

In any case, any decision to stand down as an MP is an individual matter for that MP and their party, not the Government or House of Commons as a whole.
