In the East Hants semi rural areas have become unkempt, scruffy & dirty. These are services residents have paid for.
1.Grass verges in many areas are a danger to motorists, pedestrians and pose a health risk to humans and animals.
2. Weeds on the roadside/ edge of pavements are now so established that they are damaging the fabric of roads and pavements.
3. Bottle collections are not happening on a regular basis.
4. Wildlife carcasses at the side of the road are not being collected.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about provision of services along the lines outlined in your petition are a matter for individual local authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament.

You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here:
www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to provide additional funding to local authorities for certain services, but it would still be up to individual local authorities what, if any, changes to make to the services it provides.
