Shorten Easter holidays by a week and start summer holidays a week earlier
We would like the Government to take a week off the Easter holidays for students, and start the Summer holidays a week earlier instead.
We want the Government to do this because both students and teachers are exhausted since they work hard throughout the year. It's summer and it's very hot, and parents take children on holidays early anyway as not every parent can have an annual leave in August.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
While the Government sets the minimum number of days children are required to spend in school each year, decisions about term dates are a matter for individual schools, not the Government or House of Commons. As a result it is not possible for the Government or House of Commons to take the action you have requested.
