Long Covid - increase funding for research and treatment
So many people are suffering debilitating symptoms long after they contracted Covid. There is not enough funding for research and treatment, more needs to be done.
Here is a list of some of the symptoms being experienced: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/long-term-effects-of-coronavirus-long-covid/
Very little is known about how or why these symptoms persist or worsen many months after a person contracts Covid. In many cases, someone can have a very mild case of Covid but the Long Covid which follows wipes them out.
Online forums to link up with fellow sufferers and rehabilitation clinics are all very well but they are not the solution. Sufferers don't just need to manage their symptoms, they need to recover. We need serious money for research and specialist medical professionals so that sufferers can be supported to the point where they have at least a reasonable and vastly improved quality of life.
