Equality: Change LUF grant conditions ensuring smaller councils get a fair share
The Levelling Up Fund was designed to fix economic differences between different parts of the UK that directly affect people’s lives.
The terms and conditions of grants means that some smaller councils can’t accept the risk associated with application, resulting in greater deprivation.
Smaller councils, already struggling with current economic conditions, are unable to accept the level of risk associated with grants. This is distorting the process with more grants to affluent areas increasing inequality.
We are pleading with UK government to review these terms & conditions that place all risks of grant awards on Councils. Please remove or confirm that otherwise well managed projects that may be affected by unpredictable market supply conditions will not be further penalised.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned that the Levelling Up Fund is not sufficiently accessible to smaller local authorities, but it's not clear what changes you want the Government to make to this fund.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
