Refuse resignation honours for Boris Johnson
It has become customary for a Prime Minister who is standing down to be permitted to put forward a list of people to receive peerages and other honours. This must be refused for Boris Johnson.
Johnson has been forced to announce his intention to resign as Prime Minister because of lack of integrity in his public conduct. This is unprecedented in modern times. The opportunity to put forward a resignation honours list is a customary privilege but not a constitutional right. It is a privilege which should not be afforded to Johnson, given his conduct in office and the circumstances of his planned departure.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept petitions relating to honours or appointments. This includes petitions relating to decisions on who to nominate for an honour.
You could have a petition calling for the Government to have no role in the honours system, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
