Make all pavements and roads smoother in England and Wales.
I want the Government and Parliament to fix all the roads with potholes and the pavements with cracks and that are uneven. This is because the pavements are not safe for people in wheelchairs, and prams etc. The roads are also not safe if there are potholes as this increases cyclist accidents.
I want the Government and Parliament to fix this problem as it will decrease the amount of accidents on the road and will decrease the amount of injuries people have when walking (tripping up, falling over etc). In addition people in wheelchairs will then be able to go out as the pavements will be smooth. Also, a personal relative of mine in Wales tripped over the pavement, fell and broke her hip and ankle.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Maintenance of local roads is a matter for individual local authorities, and maintenance of major roads is the responsibility of the National Highways. Transport is a devolved area of responsibility, so maintenance of roads in Wales is a matter for the Welsh Assembly and relevant traffic authorities in Wales.
We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
Increase funding so road infrastructure in towns and cities is fit for purpose: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/615804
