Petition Action

Oppose Israel’s unfair discrimination of UK citizens visiting Palestine

Petition Details

Protect the rights, privacy and safety of UK citizens by formally making representation to the Israeli government to abandon new entry procedures. The procedures are discriminatory, invasive and punitive as they only target people visiting Palestinians in the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt)

Additional Information

Procedures contravene the UK government’s mission on the oPt, and British-Palestinian relations are frustrated by restrictions on movement. British nationals have reported an increase in detentions, harassment and interrogations at border control/entry points. Restrictions are damaging Palestinian development and economic growth, impacting trade, education, culture and familial relations. No restrictions apply when visiting Israelis, including those living in illegal settlements inside the oPt.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about new restrictions on visitors to Palestine, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It's not clear if you want the Government to seek exemptions from new rules for UK citizens, or to condemn Israel for imposing new restrictions on visitors, or do something else.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
