Abolish the convention of resignation honours lists
For Parliament to express its opposition to resignation honours lists, and for the Government not to forward any further resignation honours lists for approval.
Resignation honours lists are by definition awarded mid-term and are not subject to the scrutiny that applies to other honours lists. In an age when there is a call for more transparency, they are an anachronism and should be abolished.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
It is up to individual Prime Ministers whether to request the granting of honours upon their resignation, and we can't accept petitions that request actions relating to particular individuals, including the Prime Minister.
You could have a petition calling for the Government to have no role in the award of honours or peerages, if that is something you'd like to see happen.
