carers allowance and state pension.
At the moment, as soon as you take up your state pension, Carers Allowance could be completely removed or substantially reduced. The person(s) they are caring for still require their services. ie, the burden has not gone away.
It is unfair, these people save the Health and Care Services a vast amount of resources and cost. It is beneficial to the government to continue to fund Carers allowance. The state pension received have contributed by them all their working life.. it is hardly a true benefit..
