Require schools to allow all children to play any sport they offer
The Government should require schools to allow children of either sex to play any sport they offer. This would build on the legacy of the Commonwealth Games and Euro 2022 Championship by encouraging all students, regardless of sex or gender, to have access to the same sport curriculum.
To focus on the drop off of specific genders becoming less active and the impact on their health and society.
As a woman and mother, I want both of my children to have equality of access to all sports at school so that they can develop their potential rather than this being decided by an arbitrary decision on gender or sex.
To see the uptake of access to different sports motivate and empower young people to try all sports and not be forced into gender stereotypes by the age of 5 (but more from 11 at high school).
For the Government to use the power of Euro 22 and Commonwealth Games to have a legacy.
