Require cyclists to use cycle lanes when they are present
Introduce a specific fixed penalty notice for cyclists that fail to use designated cycle lanes but instead use vehicle lanes.
With the new edition of the Highway Code additional protection has been put in place for cyclists. Further, Tax Payers monet is being spent on road safety measures in tbe form of designated cycle lanes.
However on a daily basis many cyclists do not use the lanes, but instead use the main carriageway, putting themselves at risk, interfering with traffic flow and causing unnecessary delay to other road users.
