Petition Action

Legalise the possession and carry of expandable batons/incapacitant spray

Petition Details

In the UK, members of the public with no criminal records have no ability to defend themselves from assaults with weapons. Based on a clear criminal records check, members of the public should be permitted to posess and carry less lethal items to protect themselves.

Additional Information

As a law abiding member of the public with no criminal record, I have seen many violent assaults working in security. Unfortunately those of us who follow the law have no ability to defend ourselves against violent attackers, edged weapons, those with the intent to steal property. We have to be able to defend ourselves.
