Legislate to ban commercial wooden pallets treated with highly toxic chemicals
We ask the Government to ban all commercial wooden pallets which are treated with highly toxic chemicals. There are other eco-friendly pallets available, and there is no justification why any industry should still be using these wooden pallets for logistical transport and distribution.
People may think wooden pallets are safe to burn domestically, but PM2.5 emissions are one of the most dangerous pollutants to human health. Banning wooden pallets treated with toxic chemicals should benefit the environment, public health and NHS.
