Make it a legal requirement for the police to respond to all grass fire.
A large number of grass fires have been a result of arson. Whilst some may be genuinely due to the extreme heat not all the fires are a result of this. The natural habitat of so much wildlife is being destroyed and lives are being put at risk as a result of the actions taken by those involved.
The culprits need to be found and held accountable for those actions. If the police was to attend and investigate every fire then there would be a greater chance of catching those responsible and ultimately decreasing the amount of fire saving miles of natural habitat, save thousands and thousands of pounds and free up fire and rescue service to attend real emergencies.
