Regulate online content creators who give personal financial advice
Require an obtrusive mandatory notice to be visible at all times whilst viewing the content. E.g. Banner across the screen stating: "This creator is not financially trained. For financial advice, contact your local IFA" (or similar).
Apply to all online videos and written content.
Protect the public from making disastrous financial decisions.
Do this by ensuring the consumer is aware that any advice being presented in the content piece should be ignored.
Currently, creators state "this is not financial advice" to absolve themselves of liability. Then proceed to present information which can only be interpreted as financial advice. This is not acceptable.
Regulation is required to protect the public from making financial decisions that can be irrecoverably damaging.
