Petition Action

Stop insurance companies ripping off young drivers.

Petition Details

I would like the goverment to look into why insurance companies are absolutely ripping off young drivers & ones who have just passed their test.

Additional Information

I fully understand young drivers & ones who have just passed their test are more at risk of having accidents but the figures they are charging (min of around £1200 with a black box & around £3000 without) is just ridiculous. These kids are just starting out on their careers so their wages are at the bottom end of the market & some are still in education so the amounts the insurance companies are asking for is a large part of their annual income.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We understand that you're concerned about the cost of car insurance for young people, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
