Petition Action

Ask the government to stop deducting carers allowance from universal credit.

Petition Details

The government must stop deducting carers allowance from universal credit payments. Carers that are unable to go out to work because of their caring role deserve to keep their benefit. The government allow those that are privileged enough to go to work to keep anything under £300, why can't carers

Additional Information

Caring for a family member or friend is emotionally and physically tough. Some roles are 24/7 , there is no break for a lot of people.
Please allow carers the same desgression as those who are privileged enough to go out and work and stop deducting THEIR INCOME from universal credit. For some this is their only source of income as they choose to care rather than rely and put pressure on the social system
