Freeze ministers and MP wages for 7 years.
An immediate wage freeze on Ministers and Members of Parliament for a minimum of 7 years.
Government advice suggests that wage increases can cause a wage-price spiral leading to higher inflation. It is vital that we put in measures to prevent this and control inflation, and thus we propose a freeze on ministers and MP wages for a minimum of 7 years.
If we assume inflation is at 10% for the next 7 years and the average salary of MPs is £85,000, then this would save the taxpayer around £52,000,000

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for MPs pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
You can find out more about IPSA here: http://www.theipsa.org.uk
We could accept a petition calling for the Government to freeze or reduce Ministerial pay, as this is set by the Government.
