Preserve the human rights afforded by the HRA 1998 in the new Bill of Rights.
The new Bill of Rights has raised alarms for the rights of protected groups. The Government should only update the Act by increasing people’s protection and ability to make human rights claims (e.g. by including abortion rights) and holding the government accountable.
The rights of already protected persons under the Human Rights Act 1998 should under no circumstances be diminished or removed in the new Bill. Rights should only be increasingly protected in all circumstances for all groups in the UK. Such as providing mechanisms for: protecting the right to strike, affording a living wage in line with inflation to workers, regulating the cost of the living crisis to make living affordable in the UK and improving access to free healthcare and dentistry.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about changes to human rights legislation, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.
The Government has said that the Bill of Rights will retain all the substantive rights currently protected under the Convention and the Human Rights Act 1998, and it's therefore not clear what changes you want to be made to the Bill of Rights Bill.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
