Pay students whilst on placement
Pay students whilst they are on placement for the thousands of hours they put in for free. Unable to work whilst on placement, pay petrol, food, childcare etc.
Consider an apprentice/small wage to improve retention/desirability of the healthcare professions. Whilst on full time placement for long periods of time we cannot work as well. We pay for parking, petrol out of our own pockets and wait months for a refund if any. This would attract and retain students as we are doing the same work as the paid employees.
