Overturning the ban on Gays and Bisexuals Donating Blood
Gay and Bisexual men in the UK, who have engaged in sexual contact with other men (even with a condom) are not allowed to give blood for a year after this contact.
This is due to outdated studies that designate Gay and Bisexual men as a 'higher risk category'.
However, 42% of HIV and AIDS patients are Gay and Bisexual, compared to 49% of Heterosexual cases.
