Increase minimum wage for Support Workers

Petition Details

Support Workers in the UK have the responsibility for supporting the most vulnerable people in our country. This includes being responsible and fully supporting people with extreme physical/ mental disabilities with complex needs.

A minimum £13 a hour wage to be set for all Support Workers

Additional Information

Support Workers have the responsibility of learning and abiding to many legislations safeguarding vulnerable people, administrating medication, person centred care, fully understanding of the huge variety of disabilities, illnesses and complex needs. Support Workers have to work long hours and endure being physically attacked on a regular basis. The current minimum wage is not adequate pay to match the role of a Support Worker and the skills required for the role.
