Avoid Disposable Vapes going to Landfill by creating Accessible Vape Bins
Provide large bins in Manchester and London for people to be able to dispose of their vapes to avoid them going to landfill. Avoid toxicity of battery acid and lithium being disposed of incorrectly and to give new uses for the plastic used within them.
Lithium-ion and plastic are materials used within disposable vapes that have harsh effects on the environment. There is no education on what to do with vapes once they are finished which creates a grey area for properly disposing of them. If there was a specific place to put vapes, people would have peace of mind knowing the batteries and plastic was going to be used for new material/products i.e. electric cars for lithium-ion and furniture for the plastic.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.
Decisions about local waste management are a matter for individual local authorities, not the UK Government or Parliament.
You could raise your issue with a local councillor who represents you. You can find out who your local councillors are, and how to contact them, by entering your post code here: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors
We could accept a petition calling on the Government to provide funding for particular waste management projects, or to create new legal requirements for local authorities.
