Tackle the cost of living crisis URGENTLY!
Our government needs to tackle the cost of living crisis NOW and protect the people by energy reforms including nationalising energy companies or implement a windfall tax on the soaring profits of the nations energy companies which line shareholder and CEO pockets.
The cost of living crisis hitting millions of households is about to get a whole lot worse.
UK gas producers and electricity generators are set to make excess profits totalling as much as £170 billion over the next two years, according to Treasury estimates that lay bare the revenue-raising potential of a windfall tax - handed to shareholders in higher dividends and share buybacks. So the government could apply the 25% without any tax breaks, generating a sum nearer £15bn.
