Petition Action

Require schools to follow a 5 on, 1 off, 5 on, 2 off weekly schedule

Petition Details

I wish the Government to alter the academic school year for primary and secondary schools from the current pattern to five weeks on, one week off followed by five weeks on and two weeks off. Repeating throughout the year and recommencing on the 1st Monday of each new year.

Additional Information

I feel that children do no benefit from the protracted summer shutdown of education and would be better educated with steadier periods of study which is then evenly spread with shorter breaks. It could also be better for parents to plan their work/life balance and businesses could benefit from better educated pupils with healthier routines when in their late teenage years.
