Make auto renewal card payments illegal
Many businesses (such as insurance companies) are auto enrolling their customers into auto renewals.
During this cost of living crisis, this could seriously impact people who unknowingly start to pay for a service twice.
Consequently, this practice should require the customer to positively opt in.
Make auto renewal practices illegal. Each year the customer should be required to acknowledge their consent to renew the payment, rather than using assumed consent because they haven’t opted out.
