Legally Recognise Emotional Support Animals UK
Legally recognise Emotional Support Animals in the UK.
Label ESAs as a form of service animal with their own legal recognition.
“An Emotional Support Animal is a pet that helps alleviate symptoms of a mental or emotional disability through companionship and affection.”
Unlike in America, ESA are still not recognised as a certified assistance animals in the UK. This means that the rules that apply to other assistance animals, like guide dogs, do not apply to emotional support pets. This means that for people with all kinds of mental illness have no rights to have an ESA. Meaning it could be taken away, or they can be denied housing etc
They should be able to be recognised and have legal rights that allow you to have them as a form of service dog
