Remove the need for planning permission to mount solar panels on flat roofs.
Many UK properties have outbuildings with flat roofs that could be used to mount solar panels. These are currently subject to planning laws if the panels extend 20cm from the "plane" of the roof. Mounting them flat to avoid this requirements is inefficient.
Modify the planning requirements to allow panels to be mounted on a flat roof providing they do not extend above the roof of the main property.
This could allow many more home owners to install Solar panels with far more ease and assist the government in meeting it's targets for reducing carbon emissions. This could also help households in this time of energy uncertainty, increase jobs through supply and demand and reduce the demand on the National Grid.
