Reinstate the 45% tax rate
Bring back the 45% tax rate, paid by 629,000 people and rising. While it might not be a substantial sum of money in total terms, it’s the right decision and the right message.
The mini-budget benefits the higher earners in the population and not the lower-income people who need support and help most, especially those faced with the terrifying cost of living crisis and, in particular, those trying to keep a roof over their family’s heads. This is morally and financially wrong.

The 45% rate has not yet been abolished, and the Chancellor of the Exchequer has now announced that this tax will not be removed: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-63114279
