Petition Action

Change the law to make MPs charged with a crime immediately ineligible to continue representing his constituency.

Additional Information

Highly placed individuals in public and private office who are charged with a crime are always suspended and denied access to their place of work, except MPs. To allow MPs to continue in office being paid by taxpayers is a gross insult and is offensive to those taxpayers. The argument that suspension 'from the party' is appropriate is of no significance to electors and further action is a party political act to avoid a by election. WE SHOULD HAVE A BY ELECTION WHEN AN MP IS CHARGED WITH A CRIME.
