Legislate London's Mayor/Assembly can't veto placing a memorial to QE2 in London
We want the government to pass an Act of Parliament that will stop the Mayor of London & London Assembly members vetoing the placing of a memorial to Queen Elizabeth II in the heart of Britain's capital city
London is Britain's capital city & it belongs to all of us It represents all of the people & places of Britain & as such is the focal point of our nations triumphs, disasters, celebrations, losses, commerce & world attention
Queen Elizabeth II towers above most monarchs & after 70 years serving her nation there can be no doubt a major national memorial to her must be placed in the heart of London
This is not a time for squalid politics, this is a time to celebrate & memorialise permanently a truly great & loyal Briton in our nations capital city London!

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We know many people have been deeply affected by the sad passing of Her late Majesty The Queen.
However, we can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise.
Decisions about what is displayed on Trafalgar Square is a matter for the Mayor of London and London Assembly, not the Government or House of Commons.
