Halt the Government's recent moves toward environmental deregulation.
Do not remove regulations, or revise other environmental policies, without a plan for what will replace them. Rather, in line with nature groups open letter to the PM, make haste to strengthen environmental laws, protect nature, and invest in natural infrastructure to support a sustainable economy.
Proposals within the recent Retained EU Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill and the Planning and Infrastructure Bill will compromise the Government's potential to meet legally-binding
climate and nature targets, destabilise businesses and long-term sustainability of our economy, and accelerate environmental decline that will have a destructive effect on people and nature.
The Conservative Government was elected with a commitment to ambitious environmental reforms and is reneging on their promise.
