Prevent amusements from being placed next to the War Memorial in Harrogate Town.
Place restrictions on amusements like Helter Skelter’s & Giant Ferris Wheel’s being placed next to War Memorial’s at anytime. Force local councils to respect the memory of our fallen military men & women.
Not so long ago Harrogate Borough council placed a Helter Skelter next to the War Memorial in Harrogate Town centre, This was done weeks after Remembrance Sunday. The Royal British Legion was informed (not consulted) only after the decision was made. The level of disrespect & thoughtlessness of this act is quite amazing. The reason HBC gave was for ease of access & to help the local economy.Neither are good enough reasons to disrespect the memory & remembrance of our war dead.
