The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about energy bills, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do to bring these down.

The Government has already announced an ‘Energy Price Guarantee’, which will mean a typical UK household will now pay up to an average £2,500 a year on their energy bill for the next two years: www.gov.uk/government/news/government-announces-energy-price-guarantee-for-families-and-businesses-while-urgently-taking-action-to-reform-broken-energy-market

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

Introduce a "Triple lock" to restrict energy cap increases: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/621347

Subsidise a 'basic' amount of electricity for households: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/616915

Reform energy pricing and taxes to better protect lower income households: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/621407

Remove VAT on domestic energy bills now: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/617418

Establish a not-for-profit state owned energy provider: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/617446

Allow energy bills to be paid as part of salary sacrifice, saving Tax & NI: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/621576

If you want the Government to do something different you could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
