Ban the breeding and selling of rabbits, parrots and exotic birds in pet shops
Ban breeding and selling of rabbits, parrots and other exotic birds or animals being sold in pet shops in the UK.
Rabbits and parrots are highly intelligent animals that don't do well in these environments. They aren't good children's pets which most people are purchasing for when going to a pet shop. Parrots can live for 90 years and need an experienced owner. Rabbits need a lot of care and large areas to roam they shouldn't be caged. All of this information we now know hence why still selling them in pet shops is wrong. Also most shop owners/workers have no animal care knowledge experience either.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you want to see the breeding and selling of certain animals banned, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to cover as 'exotic animals'.
You could start a new petition explaining more clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
